St Barthelemy (also referred to as St Barts) is a small island of the French Caribbean best known for its regular jet set and celebrity visitors. Almost all has been forgotten of its history such as the fact that for just under a century until 1874, this was a Swedish colony. It is now a self-governed overseas territory of France. Marius Stakelborough, aged 86, is the last person on the island to bear a Swedish name. In 1949, he opened a bar, The Select.
